This latest engine would be used in all the upcoming cars of Maruti Suzuki. The A-Star was launched at the Auto Expo and is the first car to be mounted with this advanced 998cc K-Series engine. The Maruti A-Star would be manufactured in Gurgaon, India. Maruti Suzuki is highly optimistic about their new innovation and the company is expecting that it would take the Indian car technology to the next level.
This engine depicts generation A-Star attitude which stops at nothing and makes no compromises. With the advanced technology being used, the engine is fuel efficient, powerful and the same time healthier for the environment. Mounted with advanced K-Series engine, the A-Star provides a superb mileage of 19Kmpl on the highway and 16Kmpl on the city roads. The car being low on carbon emission complies with the European market standards and as per the European car segment it has been categorized under the A-Segment car. The advanced 998cc K-Series engine has 3 cylinders at its heart which churn out a power of 67 PS of max power at 6200rpm and 90Nm of torque at 3500rpm. The engine is made up of light-weight aluminum an all plastic engine a smart distributor less ignition system manifold with dedicated plug top coils, advanced injectors and innovative rocker-less DOHC shaft. Maruti A-Star has been designed by Rajesh Kumar Gogu and Saurabh Singh of Maruti Suzuki India, A-Star.
