The obvious way to judge a car is to look out for what’s under the hood and Maruti A-Star comes with a 3 cylinder K10B engine. The engine is very powerful and has been developed after hours of research & development, validation and testing. The engine is an example of the latest automobile technologies ruling the automobile industry. It produces a power of 67ps @ 6200rpm. And if that’s not enough, there is a torque of 90Nm @3500 rpm.
The K-Series engine is equipped with a multipoint injection system and is mated to 5-speed manual transmission gear box. This advanced automobile technology has been put to a good use by Maruti. The K-series engine has been developed in such a way that it produces a fuel efficiency of 19Kmpl on the highway and 16Kmpl on the city roads. The flat torque of thus engine allows the car to negotiate in slow moving urban traffic conditions. These engines are being developed under the 9000 crore investment plan that Maruti Suzuki has rolled out. The company also plans to use these engines on all the upcoming cars of Maruti. This new initiative will surely take car technology ahead by leaps and bounds. The fuel-efficient KB10 engine would certainly be a great advantage to those who use their car for daily commutation and for long-distance trips.
Maruti A-Star would be manufactured at the company's Manesar facility in Haryana. It is a five-door hatchback car specifically designed to meet the Indian customer’s needs. The car comes in price range of approximately 3-4 lakhs depending upon the variant.
