Maruti Suzuki A-Star: Automatically winning over everyone!

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is the largest car manufacturer in the country for a reason. And it is indeed a very good reason! Maruti is synonymous for reliability, dependability and quality. When buying any new car from the company’s stable, you are assured you would be duped into thinking you’re buying anything but the best quality products which compete at the highest levels in the international market.

Maruti Suzuki India is the domestic arm of Japan based car manufacturing major Suzuki Motor Corporation. Coupled with expertise from the master company, MSIL has proved itself time and again in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki’s latest offering Maruti A-Star is yet another example of the fine thread that the company is woven with. The car is high on performance, superior in looks, dynamic in power and comes equipped with all the latest technologies deemed available today.

Maruti launched Maruti Suzuki A-Star back in 2008. However, the car manufacturers have also launched the all new A-Star Automatic in the domestic market. This variant of the successful A-Star was launched in the latter half of 2010. This latest edition of A-Stat comes equipped with a much more modern avatar in the form of a 4-speed Automatic transmission system.

A-Star Automatic uses the slot shift mechanism for its transmission which comes in 6 modes, namely P,R,N,D,3,2 and L. Similar to its basic models, A-Star Automatic has given a ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 17kmpl. The basic models give a little higher fuel efficiency at 19kmpl. A-Star Automatic has been launched at a competitive price of 4.30 Lakhs, making it the cheapest car which is currently available in India with an Automatic transmission.

This version of A-Star comes in the Vxi variant and is equipped with power windows, a standard CD/MP3 player and a height-adjustable driver seat. The car has a small footprint and light control, along with the comfort of a power steering which really makes it the ideal choice for women drivers as well as elderly who might even find the automatic much more easy to maneuver through the Indian roads.
