Maruti Suzuki is the most innovative entrant in the premium hatch back segment. The Maruti Suzuki A-Star was launched during the Auto Expo 2008 and since then the car has created a buzz in the Indian automobile market.
Being a product of Maruti Suzuki the A-Star comes with a promise of being reliable and trusts worthy. Though the car has compact dimensions, yet it has a very strong built. The built of the A-Star is considered even better than that of the Swift.
The car gives out a great performance; it delivers a power of 67 Ps at the rate of 6700rpm and a flat torque of 90 Nm at the rate of 3200 rpm. A-Star comes in three manual versions namely Vxi, Lxi, and Zxi and also offers an Automatic version option i.e. Vxi AT. The Vxi AT is mated with the four speed gear box which provides the zipper acceleration and it especially serves those who enjoy peppy driving.
Since the A-Star is easy to handle, it comes as a very convenient car for the women and for the youngsters. It has number of advantages attached to it. The car is low on price and comes within a reasonable range. Due to its compact dimension it does not occupy much space in the parking and it works well on the pothole congested roads.
The car has a shorter wheelbase, high ground clearance and a minimum turning radius. Not only this, but A-Star also provides an extraordinary mileage of 19Kmpl and a superb pickup. In terms of looks, the A-Star is very bold and has an aerodynamic styling. It is made to attract the younger audience especially in the age group of 25-30 years. The car offers eight different colour and four variant options to choose from.
