Maruti Suzuki released its most prominent and most awaited car in the 2008 at the Auto Expo. The Maruti Suzuki A-Star is a compact hatch which posses an advanced KB series engine that produces a power of 67 Ps @ 6200rpm and a torque of 90 Nm @ 3500rpm. The engine comes with a displacement of 998cc with 3 cylinders at its heart and 12 valves. The A-Star is equipped with multipoint fuel injection system.
The Maruti Suzuki A-Star comes in with three variants Vxi, Lxi and Zxi while the Vxi version comes in Automatic Transmission. The Automatic Transmission was introduced in the recent past only. If you want to drive the Automatic Version, this vehicle would offer you freedom from the gear shift. This is an interesting addition since this technology offers you to glide effortlessly and without shifting. With the AT version the passengers are bound to get the comfortable and smooth driving experience.
The A-Star looks very impressive with the sporty grille, putting the concluding touches with the aerodynamic styling. The car has sweeping expressive lamps, comet shaped tail lamps and striking bumper which adds to the look. The interiors are loaded with features such as tachometer, driver adjustable seats and Crimson illuminated instrument panel.
The car offers a mileage of 19kmpl on the highway and 16Kmpl on the city roads which differentiates it from the other cars in the small segment. The A-Star also offers class defining pickup and some of the highly advanced features. The car incorporates ABS with EBD (brake assist), Front seat belt pre-tensioners, Front seat belt force-limiters, Child-proof rear door locks, Front wipers & washer with intermittent, Rear window defogger, Security system, Air conditioner, Power steering, Key off reminder, Coloured outside door handles, Colored door mirrors, Body-colored bumper and wheel covers.
