The latest edition in the A2 segment that will join the other models like WagonR and Zen Estilo is the Maruti Suzuki A-Star. The car com6es with an all new KB-Series engine and it has been reviewed that this engine is smoother and more proficient than other Maruti engines. This all new KB-Series engine is made up of light weight aluminum construction that promises a world class fuel efficiency and low carbon emission. The New engine would also be planted in all the upcoming cars of Maruti Suzuki. This is a major step taken by the company towards the advanced car technology. The Maruti Suzuki A-Star has an engine displacement of 998cc, 3 cylinders and 12 valves. It churns out a power of 67Ps and a torque of 90 Nm.
The car was first exhibited in the Auto Expo 2008 at New Delhi and it caught almost all the attention. The car attracts younger people due to its bold looks and aerodynamic styling. The car has a sporty character and peppy feel to it. The big headlamps and the raised bonnet speak volumes about the exterior of the car. The interiors also very uniquely designed. Thought the car would be manufactured in India but it would be sold throughout the world. The car would be sold across the Europe by the name of Suzuki Alto. It has already gained an immense reputation in the international market. Among the small car segment it has comes as one of the best cars look out for. In India the car would be sold in four variants Vxi, Lxi, Zxi and Vxi AT.
