Maruti Suzuki A-Star

Maruti Suzuki launched its hatchback “A-Star” in 2008 for the Indian as well as the European users. This car from the Maruti Suzuki is the first car to be designed by the Indian engineers. This car has been designed by engineers from Maruti in collaboration with Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki A-Star provides a refreshing break from the age old tag of “foreign inspired cars” which are made for Indian customers. Maruti also sells A-Star to Nissan which sells it under a different name to European and African customers.

Maruti Suzuki has been the leader in the Indian small cars segment with 55% market share and A-Star was launched to further strengthen its position in the market. This car was first showcased in the Indian Auto Expo in 2008. This car has unique sporty look and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that promises to deliver a wonderful driving experience. A Star houses a brand new KB series 998 cc engine under its hood that delivers 67 PS @ 6200 rpm and an exceptionally good torque of 90 Nm @ 3500 rpms. Being light in weight this engine lowers the vibration or noise and provides more fuel-efficiency in every litre. The A Star has been launched as the next generation model by Maruti Suzuki and is built completely at the company's facility at Manesar, Haryana.
