Maruti A-Star Automatic

Maruti Suzuki has launched an Automatic variant of the hatch A-Star priced at Rs. 4.34 lakhs. The car was launched by Maruti Suzuki on 15 August 2010. The automatic version of A-Star has been much awaited after the success of the A-Star. This new variant from the stable of Maruti Suzuki promises to be a hit among the young generation as it offers smooth and hassle free ride on the overcrowded city roads.

The A-Star Automatic has a 4-speed auto transmission on the 1litre K-series engine that according to Maruti Suzuki is tuned to return efficiency levels of 17 kmpl which makes it the most fuel efficient car in its segment. The A-Star Automatic would only be available in the top end Vxi variant, so just one trim level to choose from. While the A-Star is priced at Rs. 4.34 lakhs making it slightly cheaper than its direct rival the Hyundai i10 Automatic. Maruti Suzuki says that the A-Star Automatic is meant for someone who falls in the 25-30year age bracket and also at females and the older people.

The A-Star Automatic has integrated 4speed automatic gear shifter, music system, all 4 power windows, central locking, ABS and drivers side seat height adjust features as standard fitment.
It is being manufactured at the Manesar plant of the company, located in Gurgaon, Haryana. The design of the car has been conceived as well as fully developed in India. This gives a refreshing break from the “foreign inspired car models” in India.

Design

The feature that sets Maruti A Star apart from the crowd is its aerodynamic design. The exteriors of the car have been adorned with distinctive headlamps, stylish taillights and unique front grille styling. The window aperture comes with stylized DLO. The interiors of this automobile get refreshed looks, with a sporty pop-up tachometer and crimson illuminated instrument panel that add to the elegant appearance of the cabin. Air conditioning system of the car, however, lacks automatic climate control. Five people can enjoy a comfortable ride in it.
